The Elder Scrolls Online (Bethesda)Few games are as content-packed as Bethesda's Elder Scrolls series, but those itching to roam around Tamriel with a bazillion other people should be pleased as a dragon on a pile of gold with the news of The Elder Scrolls Online.
Game Informer's got the goods on this massively-multiplayer entry in the long-running RPG series, due out in 2013 for the PC and Mac. It's a new direction for a franchise that for nearly two decades has focused squarely on huge, single-player experiences.

(Getty Images)When you aren't posting pics of your awesome dinner or infuriatingly cute cat, there's a good chance you're spending a chunk of your Facebook time playing games.
But while companies like Zynga, Playdom and PopCap dominate the scene, some other big players are getting in on the act.
In fact, one of the biggest players ever, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, just launched a new Facebook game. Mr. Beyonce Knowles joins a growing group of celebrities who have taken the social network by storm, hoping to microtransact their fame into a few extra bucks. But all celeb games are not created equal. Which of these deserve a spot on your Facebook gaming A-list, and which should be kicked back down to casting?

Bored with the castles, moats and drawbridges of typical miniature-golf courses? Internet madman Tom Scott is, so to celebrate his ten-thousandth day on the planet, he opted to create a substantially cooler one.
Scott asked some of his fellow hacker pals to build a 12-hole mini-golf course from scratch, and the result is the geek's equivalent of Pebble Beach.

Most folks think of football great Barry Sanders as the pride of the Detroit Lions, but before he zipped through defenders in the pro game, he was setting records as an Oklahoma State Cowboy.
How big was he in college? In 1988, Sanders put together arguably the greatest rushing season in NCAA football history, smashing records by amassing 2,628 yards and an insane 39 touchdowns in a mere 11 games. Easily enough to win him the Heisman, and now enough to win him a cover spot in a college football game nearly 25 years later.

Most small, independently-produced video games fly under the radar.
Fez, however, isn't your average independently-produced video game.
The brainchild of outspoken (and somewhat polarizing) game developer Phil Fish and his team at Polytron, Fez has been making quite a bit of noise since word of its creation emerged back in 2007. It's twice won coveted Independent Games Festival awards, most recently taking home the grand prize at this past IGF in March. Its journey is featured in the new documentary Indie Game: The Movie. That's plenty of action for a game yet to even come out, much less leave its mark.
But as it turns out, that's exactly what Fez does. Finally releasing this week on Xbox Live, the puzzling platforming game is all the rage, currently averaging a hearty 90 on Metacritic.
