I'm talking BIG..."Big" is really just a matter of perspective when it comes to video games. There's big in terms of sales (see: Call of Duty), big in terms of popularity (see: Pokemon), and, of course, big in terms of sheer gameplay size (See: Skyrim).

Then there are games that are big in the conventional sense: massive physical structures. While portable games might be more popular, there's a niche market for folks who like to super-size their games. Here are some of the truly biggest games in the world.

Halo 4 (Microsoft)As America elects its Commander in Chief, Xbox 360 owners will likely elect to spend some time with a different sort of Chief.

Microsoft has unveiled an Election Day launch date for the next installment in its flagship Halo series -- quite possibly the last Halo game for this generation of console systems.

Halo 4 marks a new beginning for the franchise, as it's the first entry being entirely made by a developer other than series creator Bungie. Microsoft internal studio 343 Industries is running the show now.

Most folks think of football great Barry Sanders as the pride of the Detroit Lions, but before he zipped through defenders in the pro game, he was setting records as an Oklahoma State Cowboy.

How big was he in college? In 1988, Sanders put together arguably the greatest rushing season in NCAA football history, smashing records by amassing 2,628 yards and an insane 39 touchdowns in a mere 11 games. Easily enough to win him the Heisman, and now enough to win him a cover spot in a college football game nearly 25 years later.

Could developer Valve be teaming up with Apple to create the next big thing?

When you're the CEO of the world's most valuable brand, you don't typically stop by other company's offices for a cup of coffee, so when Apple boss Tim Cook made a trip to video game developer Valve, the web went wild. But through all the static surrounding whether the visit was business or pleasure, some insiders attempted to clear the air with a few stunning details. According to numerous anonymous sources, Valve and Apple are planning a brand new home gaming experience to take on the likes of the Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo boxes populating hundreds of millions of homes worldwide.

Dylan Viale (Jim Caroompas, patch.com)While most ten-year-olds are happy simply playing video games, that wasn't enough for Dylan Viale.

The fifth-grader, you see, has a very close relationship with his grandmother Sherry, who has been blind for decades. And because of that condition, he wasn't able to share his love of video games.

So he decided to make one just for her.

Another evil Capcom typoIt might not be as severe as the "Madden Curse," but Japan-based game publisher Capcom apparently irked the wrong witch doctor. Doomed to be sneered at by editors everywhere, Capcom continues to litter its marketing materials with spelling blunders.

Kotaku today spotted a web ad on game help site Gamefaqs.com that misspelled "mercenaries" as "merchenaries." (Note: The ad has since been updated with the correct spelling.)

Caine Monroy (Source: cainesarcade.com)It has been one heck of a week for nine-year old Caine Monroy.

Since the story of his handmade cardboard arcade first surfaced on Tuesday, he's become one of the most popular figures on the Internet. Pretty much every major news outlet has written or aired a story about him. The arcade is certain to be standing room only when it opens on Saturday. And as for his collegiate future?

That's pretty much taken care of now.

Most small, independently-produced video games fly under the radar.

Fez, however, isn't your average independently-produced video game.

The brainchild of outspoken (and somewhat polarizing) game developer Phil Fish and his team at Polytron, Fez has been making quite a bit of noise since word of its creation emerged back in 2007. It's twice won coveted Independent Games Festival awards, most recently taking home the grand prize at this past IGF in March. Its journey is featured in the new documentary Indie Game: The Movie. That's plenty of action for a game yet to even come out, much less leave its mark.

But as it turns out, that's exactly what Fez does. Finally releasing this week on Xbox Live, the puzzling platforming game is all the rage, currently averaging a hearty 90 on Metacritic.
