Diablo III (Blizzard)After literally years of teasing fans with a release date, Diablo III is finally about to hit store shelves.

Blizzard Entertainment announced Thursday that the hotly anticipated hack-and-slash RPG will launch on May 15. Players who don't want to waste a second jumping back into Tristram can pre-order a digital copy of the game from Battle.net now.

"After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we're now in the homestretch," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months."

Researchers at the University of California at San Francisco have launched an experimental program to determine whether video games could replace existing exercises for patients with Parkinson's disease.

It's already well known in the medical community that exercise and physical therapy can help ease the tremors and other symptoms of the disease, but getting patients to stick with the routines can be difficult.

That fight (thankfully) never happened, but the Big Van Damme apparently has another athlete in his sights: Tiger Woods, who presumably killed Shaq's master, and now Shaq wants revenge. Or perhaps vice versa.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)When you sit down to dive into a virtual world, do you choose to swing swords? Rotate blocks? Throw punches? That was the subject of last week's Yahoo! Games poll — "What's your favorite game genre?" — and the results are ready for their close-up.

Though considered by some to be one of the less accessible genres, Role Playing rolled its way to the #1 spot with 31% (2,092) of the votes, edging out the seemingly more popular First-Person Shooter genre, which came inches from victory with 29% (1,980). Considering games like Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3 were among the best-sellers of 2011, it's not exactly a shocking one-two punch.
