We first learned of the South Park role-playing game late last year, and while very little about the game was initially known, fans were immediately excited. Today, at Microsoft's E3 2012 press conference, series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker were on hand to show off the first real footage of the game in action, and it looks pretty sweet.
South Park: The Stick of Truth takes place in the titular Colorado town where you, a new kid, is tasked with saving the community, but perhaps the world as well. Unlike past attempts at bringing the South Park license to the gaming space, The Stick of Truth looks exactly like an actual episode of South Park. In fact, it's actually difficult to tell what parts of the video are gameplay and which are simply story sequences.
The trailer contains all the edgy and potentially offensive humor and violence that the show is known for, but if you're a South Park fan, that's probably exactly what you're looking for. The game has a March 5, 2013 launch date, and will appear on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
