Poll Vault: Xbox 360 is your most played system

With the Playstation Vita and Wii U both launching this year, the battle over your video game system allegiances is about to heat up.

But before you have to make tough buying decisions, we gave you an easy one. In our last reader poll, we asked: "Which system do you play the most?" And in harmony with recent sales figures, the Xbox 360 was the big winner.

Microsoft's once-troubled machine (remember those Red Rings?) raked in 25,420 votes, good for 38% of the total.  Nipping at its heels was Sony's PS3, finishing with a very healthy -- and very close -- 23,147 (35%).

Coming in third? That would be the Wii, which took in a mere 9,320 votes (14%). Faced with waning sales, a lack of core gamer interest, and the ramp up to the Wii U, it's seen better days. But it gets worse for Nintendo: in a clear sign that the times have changed, the iPhone/iPad gaming experience crushed the Nintendo 3DS, 7,030 (11%) to 1,569 (2%).

What's your favorite gaming experience?  Let us know in the comments, or hit us up on Facebook and ring in!

the best result by far is if they are all close..
if one system (or company) ever becomes dominant then we will all suffer, if you have no choice the quality will suffer greatly and prices will most likely also climb.. this is basically the problem with cable and internet service now in most areas, no competition means they can treat you like crap and get away with it.
so i say.. go microsoft (with the games anyway), go sony, AND go nintendo.

if there was a really good competitor to windows (not talking quality of the OS, but 3rd party support wise) then windows wouldn't be $300!!

never taught about it that way. my fanatism toward ps3 blinded me!! without xbox, ps3 would probably still be running at $600

this isnt really news but you got me to click on it. i have both the PS3 and the Xbox and i spend 99% of my time on Xbox. The PS3 online service is a chore and the updates take forever. I know there are sony lovers out here that are gonna post a bunch of hateful comments but remember i didnt put any of you guys down, i only expressed my preference. Thats still ok in the country isnt it.

Yes it is very ok, in fact it is encouraged, and for that I applaud and respect you. Unfortunately some of your fellow xbox players would disagree and are too ignorant to see the downsides of their own system and the upsides of the others.

i own both systems i like the user interface and cross game party chat for the 360 i know its hard to compare pay vs free multiplayer but id gladly spend 13cents a day for live compared to PSN for free

I have both systems and in my opinion its a wash. I play games on both. While the PS Network is a pain sometimes, it is FREE. I think it is a bunch of crap to pay for content that is in almost every game. I prefer the PS3 for movies. However, after thinking the kinect was a joke, I find myself needing to buy one for Mass Effect 3. From the videos I have seen, if microsoft can duplicate what was shown, they very well may win the current battle of systems.

Xbox is a good system, but too many sore-losers and fanboys are the majority of the players. PS3 and Wii are the gaming systems for me, but nothing shall stop me from dusting off our old NES.

Not happy? Go back to shooting people's heads off.

PC gaming, have no life, no friends, never get laid.

"waste money on a console"lol. Have fun with the 10 or so games that come out for PC yearly.

are you kidding Rye? I have all the consoles and the all the hand held but PC is the best. Go to Steam and download games for as little as 1.99 and play it for days!!! Granted the recent Medal Of Honor kinda sucked but at less than 3.00 bucks, I cant complain playing 15 hours of online. Too many PC games, not enough time for me.

Sony and Nintendo all the way. My daughter loves her DS and her Wii. I love my PS3. Personally, I like the PS3 better than the XBOX. You get online gaming for FREE. The only games that even caused me to own an XBOX was Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls. I got tired of paying monthly fees to get to play online with others. Also, say me and my fiance managed to get 2 XBOX's but wanted to play online together we have to have two different subscriptions, but we do have 2 PS3's and we play online together all the time.

Look the rrod thing was FIXED a lonnng time ago! The new 360s, and the ones with the smaller power brick, and the ones with that smaller motherboard can't get the rrod. Yeah it could over heat but so does every other console. With the 360 you would have to get three (sometimes four) red lights before your system died, got one red light? Turn it off then trun it on again it works fine. Like it NEVER even happend. But if you get the red light for another reason that's something else.

whoever wrote this is an #$%$ hole. sure, I love the 360 but this guy is acting like nintendo is a third party developer. i actually voted for the 3DS on that poll, noob, because i spend slightly more time on that then my 360, but i spend the most time on my nintendo 64.but wii is over due to the wii u. i gave up on wii when i got my 360(christmas) and am lookign forward to wii u

nope, PC is. you have to buy a gaming console, and a PC. While for me, it's 2 in 1 and my hardware isn't 6 years old

I respect both the PS3 & XBOX 360. The reason why i got PS3 because of the ps3 exclusive games. The Xbox 360, i have most of my main games on the systems. Overall, i'm not like a fanboy trying to down none of the systems. Both have flaws, Both have positives and negatives. If you a true gamer, have fun with both systems. I don't have the nintendo wii but i do like the nintendo wii but i'm not wasting no more money on game systems and i got other important things to do like school and working so i can't catch up with so much of these games. I respect the world of gaming. I don't down any game systems at all.

Ok Xbros, heres your chance to comment and tell me exactly what makes this 360 of yours so amazing. I'll start by listing pros and cons of each system. Xhaters are encouraged to add anything i miss.
    PS3 pros:
-Free online gameplay with an audience just as large (if not larger) compared to live's
    -built in blue ray player
-Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, Infamous are some of the exclusive games (Assassin's Creed might as well be since there are more people playing it on PS3)
-controller design that has been used since the first playstation, making it familiar to long time gamers, controllers are also rechargable by connecting it to the system via usb cable
    -3d gaming
    -every accessory is bluetooth
-two free, full length games due to hack (four if you include PSP)
    Cons:
-PSN was shut down for a month due to a hack
-graphics are less than stellar if not connected with an HDMI cable
-playstation eye is only accessory that isn't bluetooth

    360 Pros:
-Forza, Halo 2, Fable are some exclusive games
    -HD graphics
    -large online network
-ergonomic controllers (left joystick is up where control pad is lower)
    Cons:
    -Halo sucks now
-$60 a year for live (if you want all the features that is)
-preteen gamers who talk s*** and think someones haxoring if they lose at cod
    -huge, awkward controllers
-kinect is similar to wii as in its not nearly as good as was hyped up to be

    i believe that's everything
