For sale: Ultima creator’s Texas castle

Richard Garriott has always lived in a slightly different world than the rest of us.

Or used to live there, at least.

Garriott's epic digs can now be yours — if you've got a spare $4 million lying around.

Britannia Manor II, a 5,000 square foot home in Austin that overlooks 3,000 acres of protected land, was designed by Garriott -- and, as you might expect from a legendary game maker, it comes with some very unique features.

Like to exercise? The lit running track, sports court and indoor pool with a waterfall should fit your needs. Got kids? They'll love the carousel. Do you share Garriott's fascination with outer space? The observatory atop the roof (with telescope included, natch) is a star gazer's dream come true.

It's also perfect for guests. The guesthouse is approximately 1,000 square feet, the garage holds up to five luxury cars, and if they get to be too much of a burden, you can always just toss then in the handy dungeon.

The house is also filled with hidden passages. Of the 13 rooms in Britannia Manor, only one is inaccessible from a hidden passage. The house is so loaded with curiosities, in fact, that it was once featured on MTV Cribs.

Not included in the sale, unfortunately, are the hundreds, perhaps thousands of antiques and curios Garriott has collected over the years. That means you'll need to bring your own shrunken heads, elephant skulls and weaponry if you choose to keep the same theme.

Also, while you might be buying the most interesting house in the neighborhood, it will only retain that title for a limited time. Garriott's already planning to build a new, larger home not far from Britannia Manor II.
