Twister DanceTwister -- the elaborate adolescent courtship ritual that's all about contorting yourself into bizarre shapes -- is about to be revamped.
And instead of the familiar floor mat and spinner, the new version will be all about dance. You know, the elaborate adolescent courtship ritual that's all about contorting yourself into bizarre shapes TO MUSIC.
So out goes the familiar "left hand on red, right leg on green" gameplay, and in comes something more modern and electronic that sounds rather similar to Wii smash Just Dance. It'll include movable Twister spots for players to set on the floor and a central battery-powered console that flashes colored lights in time to music, letting you know where to put your feet.
Snappily monikered "Twister Dance," the new game should launch this fall, just in time for the holiday gift season. It'll include songs by artists like Ke$ha, Willow Smith, and most importantly, one Britney Spears -- remember her? — who will feature prominently in the game's packaging and TV ads.
Although Twister Dance will only come with five songs, you'll be able to hook up your own audio source and twist away to your own tunes. Not sure how it will react to our collection of Gregorian chants, but there's only one way to find out.
