    Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception unveiled

    Narnia Island

Looking good, Nathan - Sony Computer Entertainment Call it Nathan of Arabia. And call us excited.

In advance of Saturday's VGA Awards on Spike, Entertainment Weekly got the lowdown on what will surely rise to the top of countless
'most anticipated games' lists: Sony and Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3: Drake's
    Deception.

Details are a bit light at the moment, though EW confirms that
the new adventure will focus on the relationship between Drake and his mentor,
    Victor "Sully" Sullivan and will take place in the Arabian Peninsula;
specifically, the mysterious Rub' al Khali desert, which Drake believes is
home to a "legendary lost city."

"We're a bunch of nerds," Naughty Dog co-president
Evan Wells told EW. "We just look for something that will be a technical,
artistic challenge, and allowed us to push into an area of the world and
history we've never tapped into before."

The Uncharted brand is among gaming's strongest. Last year's
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves won hordes of Game of the Year accolades en route
to selling nearly 4 million copies. The series will even enjoy a
    big screen adaptation
courtesy David O. Russell, with Mark Wahlberg signed
on to play the heroic Drake.

If indeed the game releases late next year, Uncharted 3 will join an impressive slate of Sony exclusives in what's shaping up to be a banner 2011 for the PS3, with the likes of LittleBigPlanet 2, Infamous 2, Resistance 3, Killzone 3 and The Last Guardian all expected to arrive before year's end.

More details on the sequel, including an official release date, could come as early as this weekend during the Spike VGA Awards.
