It turns out, though, that the terrifying part might well be just in your head.
Witness the hilarious reaction of roller coaster-phobe Jacob, whose "friends" - and we'll leave that in quotes - strapped an Oculus Rift VR set to the poor guy's head, then loaded a program simulating a hectic coaster. While Jacob was actually standing up in front of a computer, the experience was realistic enough that he quickly freaked out (and, fair warning, shouts out a few less than family friendly words).
To his credit, though, he didn't once try to rip the headgear from his eyes, though he does insist quite vociferously that his friends take it off at the end of the ride.
Naturally, a reaction like this on YouTube isn't likely to stay just among friends. Jacob's hilarious terror has quickly gone viral, like so many Oculus Rift clips have in recent months.
This one might win the award for funniest reaction, but the cutest, hands down, is still the 90-year old grandmother, experiencing virtual reality for the first time.
