Blizzard Entertainment, having conquered the PC, is now setting its sites on the living room by announcing a partnership Monday with USAopoly to release a World of Warcraft-themed Monopoly game and a Starcraft-focused version of Risk.

Come together, right now.It might still be the most popular board game in the world, according to publisher Hasbro, but there's no denying Monopoly's particular brand of cut-throat Gordon Gekko capitalism just isn't as fashionable as it once was.

The time's right for a new take on the game, in other words -- and that's exactly what worker-owned cooperative publisher The Toolbox for Education and Social Action (TESA) has produced.

Their game is called Co-opoly, and though it bears a superficial resemblance to Monopoly, in it you're more likely to be buying health insurance for your co-workers, tackling economic challenges as a group, or debating the pros and cons of a business expansion than paying rent,

Unless you're all fans of classic game Sim City, we're guessing the answer is "of course not." But residents of one Michigan metropolis are doing just that after officials found a novel method to address urban planning issues: they've made their own board game, reports MLive.

For fans of Activision's video game-related action figures, times are tough. Huge demand combined with tight supply means stores simply can't keep them on shelves -- and shoppers are going away empty-handed. In short, they're rapidly turning into this year's Tickle-Me Elmo.

And it's not even Christmas.

The action figures belong to the Skylanders:Spyro's Adventure video game, an October release that proved the top-selling kids game of 2011. Key to its appeal is the unique link between plastic toy and video game: put the figures on its included "Portal of Power" platform, and digitized versions of them spring gleefully to life on your TV screen. It's the kind of synergy that makes many parents squeal, let alone the kids.

What's better than a game of Monopoly? A life-size game of Monopoly, of course. And the only thing better than a life-size game of Monopoly, obviously, is one where the players are carried from Mediterranean Ave. to Park Place in a brand-new hybrid.

As luck would have it, that's exactly what'll be going on at the nation's largest auto show, which kicks off in Chicago on February 10.

The exhibit will take up 30,000 square feet of Chicago's McCormick Center, according to AutoGuide, and the vehicles will include Toyota's Prius V and hybrids from its Camry and Highlander ranges.

Magic publisher Wizards of the Coast rolled out the Magic: The Gathering Toolbox this week, and it's a must download for any iThing-owning Magic players. There's a breakdown of  its full feature list right here, but the app's headline feature is definitely its built-in, searchable, and updatable database of over 10,000 Magic cards.
