Hits: Once you get used to it, it's easy enough to pass levels.
Misses: Initially difficult to figure out, the freeze thing was annoying because it requires fast reflexes. The measuring could take more math.
The Full Report: The first time I tried playing the game I couldn't figure out how to take ingredients. It seemed logical to either drag the cup to the ingredient or the ingredient to the cup, but instead you had to drag the ingredient to the field, then click the amount and then cup or spoon. I checked the comments and fortunately someone had posted a hint there. Once you figure that out, the game doesn't require much smarts because for most levels all the amounts such as 3, 2, 1 ½ and 3/4 are available on the selector and with things like eggs, it puts it away after you have added enough so it's impossible to add too many. It would be more educative if people for example had to combine 1/4 and ½ to make 3/4 and 3x1 to make 3. I've seen people (not children) who are confused by basic maths like this and could use the practice. Also the freeze thing was annoying. It would make more sense either to have it happen slowly like with the baking option, and there would be failure involved if you froze it too much (it would be too hard to eat) or then you'd just have to click it without having to hit a moving bar and success would depend on if you read the instructions correctly. Trying to click on a rapidly moving object to make it stop isn't very fun. Also the theme of a girl cooking for her boyfriend seems a bit chauvinistic. It would only take a couple more animations to allow a reversal of roles and support equality.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-
