What's up with the hints?

Today is the 1st time I have done one of these puzzles and I did enjoy it. Though I don't understand what the problem is about the hints. I thought the clues themselves were the hints. I think your crossword puzzles could be more challenging and I was disappointed that there were no more puzzles to do.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Enate is related on the mothers side. Emend is to correct usually by textual alterations. And finally, spelt is hulled wheat. Try spelled next time.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Spellings are atrocious. Since when has 'Inate" been spelt 'Enate' and 'Amend' been spelt as 'Emend'0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Crosswords used to challenge the mind by giving good hints to hard answers; we sometimes even needed a crossword dictionary to complete the answers, most of which were well over four letters. Nowadays the answers are short, easy, and repeated almost daily - And the clues try to be deceptive by being cutesy or sly. The "challenge" is trying to figure out what the writer's clue rather than the answer. And, if they want to issue more of a challenge or an answer more than four letters, the answer will be more than one word (without warning), or some plural form that exists only in archaic dictionaries. Bah. I am so sick of oboe, oreo, olio, oleo, et cetera ad nauseum!0 of 0 people found this review helpful-
