By Rata del Rio on

ROE = Raw eggs? ROE is fish eggs, raw or cooked.
ROSIN = Bow lubricant? ROSIN is NOT a lubricant, it increases stickiness.

Jill Pepper, a pieta is not a madonna and child sculpture. It is an image of Mary and the dead Christ. I dont think Christ died as a child.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Challenge Should be in the Clues, not the Words
By John on

I used to think these were too easy, but lately I've been having problems, too. I was afraid it was dementia setting in. I much preferred the other crossword they had a few years ago.
A well-designed puzzle should have a minimum of foreign words and acronyms. Anyone can make a hard puzzle with tons of obscure words. But that kind of "hard" isn't fun.
By the way, they do "charge" for the puzzles. You haven't noticed those ads at the beginning? You can be sure that they're making money off of the games. Otherwise they'd drop them. They are a business after all.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Congratulations Jill Pepper, on composing Sunday's crossword that meets my concept of what a good one should be, i.e., avoiding/minimal use of, foreign words, proper nouns/peoples names, acronyms, slang, etc. The extra effort required by you to achieve this, is greatly appreciated.0 of 0 people found this review helpful-
