  • ROE AND ROSIN

    star44

Rata, rosin si for violin bows and other musical intruments. Resin is a glue like substance that can be hardened into jewelry beads and the like. Roe really is raw eggs. They were trying to be a little vague, to make you work for it but they were right.

Ole Guy is right -- just enjoy this (free) diversion -- AND, you might just learn something.
  • ROE and ROSIN (from yesterdays and todays puzzles)

    star33

ROE = Raw eggs? ROE is fish eggs, raw or cooked.

ROSIN = Bow lubricant? ROSIN is NOT a lubricant, it increases stickiness.

Editor? Are you there? Are you reviewing and editing these submissions? And why not?
  • Pieta

Jill Pepper, a pieta is not a madonna and child sculpture. It is an image of Mary and the dead Christ. I dont think Christ died as a child.

If there's a way to get to archived puzzles, I've never found it. That's one of the things I don't like about this one.

Congratulations Jill Pepper, on composing Sunday's crossword that meets my concept of what a good one should be, i.e., avoiding/minimal use of, foreign words, proper nouns/peoples names, acronyms, slang, etc. The extra effort required by you to achieve this, is greatly appreciated.

As for odd clues ... that's the writer's fault not Yahoo's. I do these every day. But I'm getting worse and worse at em.
