The Full Report: I played and beat MCF: Huntsville on the free trial. After the initial hour, they let you open the program for 5 minutes at a time. I'd set a timer, run the game, and "save" what I'd done (by going out to the map) when the timer went off. Took me 2 days to beat it that way, but I kept at it because this is a great game. When Prime Suspects came out, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy it, and I'm glad I did! I like the added challenge of finding the battery in this one, and the scenes are just as interesting if not more so. I've played through the whole game a few times now, and it definitely earns all 5 points on the "lasting appeal" scale. The graphics are good, and every scene has much more embedded in it than it seems initially. The sound is often a little creepy, which is fun, but it's also possible to turn off the music and background noises if you don't like them, and just have the sound effects of playing (you get a kind of clunking sound if you guess wrong, and a chiming sound if you guess right). It's very easy to learn, and would be great for both kids and adults. I've seen picture books that are a similar premise, but easier for younger kids. I wouldn't suggest it for young children, just because they might get frustrated or creeped out by some of the scenes (like the abandoned hospital), but I'd say 10 -12 and up will definitely like it. I really have nothing bad to say about this game, though it did give me some temporary neck pain from peering at my little laptop screen!
