Basics
The object of FreeCell is to move all the cards from the board area to the home cells - the four slots to the right and above the board. In order to win, you make four stacks of cards on the home cells, one for each suit, stacked in order from Ace to King. In FreeCell, it should be possible to win just about every game.

Gameplay
The game board consists of four free cells, located to the left of the home cells. There is also a deck of cards, which is dealt into eight columns on the board at the start of each game.

You may move cards from column to column if they are in the same order, highest to lowest and alternate suit colors. To move cards into home cells, they must be moved in order from lowest to highest and in the same suit. You can use a free cell to hold any card from the bottom of one of the columns. You can also put cards that are placed in free cells back on the board as long as it is in descending order and of an alternate suit color.

End Game
The game ends when you have moved all the cards into the home cells or you cannot make any more moves. It is commonly thought that every freecell game should be winnable.
