  1. This is a still image, but if you move your eyes around the central square pattern, the stars will seem to move. The effect is due to a phenomenon that's colloquially called "eye jitter." The eyes, constantly moving by imperceptible amounts, amplify the difference between the two patterns and create the illusion of motion. More examples can be seen here.

    Something cool: Instead of moving your eyeballs, just stare into the center and nod your whole head up and down as in 'yes', or side to side as in 'no'. You'll see the images moving opposite to your movements. Or is it the 60's all over again? Try it, let me know.

    It is a graphics display gimmick by Yahoo! to convince you that your eyes wiggle alot, which makes the picture seems like it's dancing, which, coincidently, is the same ploy they use to beef up their product. Yahoo, unfortunately, has become QUITE boring!!!!!
