WhenEntertainment Weekly reunited the plastics — Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert — to celebrate the 10 th anniversary of the film, the actresses revealed how they got cast in such an iconic film.
Lohan was just coming off starring in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Freaky Friday when she was approached by Mean Girls director Mark Waters about the role.
"I wanted to play Regina. I had just played — in Confessions and Freaky — not the cool girl in school. I was still 17 years old and I wanted to be the cool girl on set," Lindsay told EW . "So I had a war with him, and [Mark] goes, 'No, Cady is the heroine, and that’s who you are.' Then I sat in all the auditions. Amanda auditioned to play Regina as well. It ended up being Rachel, and she's wonderful."

In a new interview in the November issue of Elle UK, Hathaway opens up about her sometimes rough rise to stardom.
"This fame thing f***** me up for a really long time, Anne revealed. "I didn't know how to do it; I didn't know how to engage with it; it stressed me out. And people would say, 'You just have to be yourself,' and I was like, 'But I don't know who that is yet!'"
Her feelings have certainly changed now, though.
"The thing I’ve learned this past year is to chill out," she said. "I think when you’re young and struggling to find yourself, there’s something alluring about the idea of being tortured.
"Life for me these days is a lot about letting the unknown be wonderful, and letting myself feel safe."
The 31-year-old took a brief break from Hollywood after her 2012 Oscar win for a supporting role in Les Miserables , but she'll be back on the big screen soon. Hathaway stars alongside Matthew McConaughey in the sci-fi flick Interstellar , which hits theaters Nov. 7.
Are Justin Bieber and David Hasselhoff teaming up for a new project?
Well, it sure looks like it. The two stars have been spending quite a bit of time together over the past few days. On Saturday, The Hoff posted a photo with Justin and Cody Simpson on Twitter with the caption, "What a great day @CodySimpson @justinbieber Emile our director for new video ... signing t shirts for charity! RESPECT!" However, he quickly and mysteriously deleted the post.
After David appeared in Bieber's video, the pop star then returned the favor when they teamed up again on Tuesday in Venice, California. They appeared to be shooting scenes on for the upcoming comedy movie, Killing Hasselhoff .
Sporting a barely-there goatee, the Biebs sat in the passenger seat while Hasselhoff drove KITT, the iconic Pontiac Firebird Trans AM from his 1980s TV series, Knight Rider . Both actors were beaming throughout the shoot.
Hasselhoff had a great time with the 20-year-old pop star, telling People , "We had a lot of fun, and he's a cool guy. You'll hear more about it, but we're just keeping it quiet because it's really a cool video, and we had a blast."
While Judd's press tour for her latest film Dolphin Tale 2 , is now in high gear, she's been keeping a pretty low profile over the past few months. In fact, we haven't spotted her on a red carpet since April at the Nashville Film Festival. We'd ask what she did all summer, but one look at those abs through her dress and we know: She's been working out.
In fact, Judd has been enjoying her time outdoors running, hiking, and sharing the experiences all over Instagram.
But that's not all: At the end of July, the star posted a picture from the set of Insurgent , the sequel to this spring's hit, Divergent , in which she played Shailene Woodley's mother.
Judd rounded out her summer by celebrating her brother's wedding. After a difficult 2013, during which she divorced husband Dario Franchitti, it's nice to see that she's taken some time for herself away from Hollywood. Given the sight of her in that fabulous dress this week, the break appears to be agreeing with her.

Carlos Slim, 74, threw the star multiple parties throughout the weekend in honor of her milestone birthday. Slim is a business magnate and investor with a net worth of $85.4 billion dollars, according to Forbes , and is known as the Warren Buffett of Mexico (which explains why the Italian film siren didn't toast her day in her home country). He's also a longtime friend of the Academy Award winning actress, having attended multiple events together over the years, including a charity concert in Acapulco in 2012 and the 2011 Acapulco Film Festival.
The festivities kicked off on Thursday at Slim's Soumaya Museum, where Loren cut the ribbon to kick off an exhibit in her honor, which highlights her impressive career, glamorous gowns, awards, and magazine covers. "This is not a celebration of the past but the prologue of a beautiful life that has given me a lot," Loren said during a news conference for the museum.
Good to know that Daniel Radcliffe always pays his debts, even if it is two years later.
The Dublin Minor Football team lent the actor, who is worth $100 million, taxi cab fare after he went to a house party with them in 2012. On Thursday, one of the players, Conor Mullally, posted a picture on Twitter of the 50 Euros (about $64) the Harry Potter alum sent him along with a hand written note. He captioned the post, "Two years later,Daniel Radcliffe pays us back the taxi fare from that infamous night #gent."
Daniel's note read, "Hi Guys, So thanks again for paying for my cab! I couldn't live with myself if I didn't honour my word and pay you back. Once again great meeting you all. Hope this covers it!"
What a nice guy! So how did they meet? The 25-year-old British actor ran into three members of the team on a street in Dublin right after they had won the 2012 All-Ireland Victory and struck up a conversation.
The experience the actor wanted included heading back to the team's house for a party. Conor said, "He realized he didn't have any money on him ... and we had to pay for his taxi."
The High School Musical actress, 25, surprised Cesar Guerrero, a 17-year-old fan who has been battling cancer, at a prom that was thrown especially for him at Sylmar High School in Los Angeles this week.
The Art of Elysium charity helped set up the entire thing as part of their #ARTHeals campaign, which s preads awareness to help raise funding for their hospital programs. The Art of Elysium explained to The Insider With Yahoo that they joined forces with Kaiser Permanente to throw a prom for Cesar. "We have been working with Cesar throughout his treatments at Kaiser over the past year," said the organization. "Cesar has been a huge fan of Vanessa for years and she volunteered to surprise him and his guests at prom. She was absolutely wonderful — dancing with the guests, taking pictures with fans, and enjoying the Photo Booth."
Hudgens was just as excited about the experience and posted her own message on Instagram: "Hung out with @cesarrudyguerrero at his very own prom thanks to the amazing work of @theartofelysium."

That's what everyone was wondering when the former couple was photographed together Monday in Los Angeles sporting matching top knots and driving in a white BMW convertible just two months after calling it quits. However, sources tell Us Weekly that J.Lo, 45, and Smart, 27, are simply friendly exes.
"They still have a lot of love for each other and are incredibly close," said one insider. "It doesn't surprise me to hear they are hanging out and having fun."
The pair, who dated for two and a half years, certainly seem to be on good terms. For Jen's 45th birthday in July, Casper posted a photo of a birthday cake in the shape of a bear on Instagram captioned, "Happppppppy Birthday to the most Beautiful lil bear in the world!!!! May all your wishes come true!! @JLo."
Check out the video above to hear Lopez's thoughts on her relationship with Casper, and tune in to The Insider With Yahoo on TV tonight.

In the August issue of Good Housekeepingmagazine, the singer opens up about love and marriage.
"Hey, I would love to get married — I'm still old-fashioned. But I don't think marriage is the be-all and end-all," notes Crow. "It's better to have three broken engagements than three divorces!"
And Sheryl has had her fair share of romances with famous men like Eric Clapton and Owen Wilson. One of her more publicized relationships was with cyclist Lance Armstrong. They started dating in 2003, but shortly after announcing their engagement they separated.
So why did none of these romances stick? Despite her own success, Crow never quite felt that she measured up to the men she was dating.
Fortunately, since moving to Nashville with her two sons, Crow's been feeling more empowered when it comes to her relationships with the opposite sex. Her attitude changed when one of her friend's wisely advised her to "embrace the idea of only having equals in your life, and you'll see your relationships change."
