Markus "Notch" Persson isn't just the acclaimed creator of the phenomenally successful building game, Minecraft.

He's also one of the nicest bosses alive.

"Before tax, my dividends from Mojang for 2011 was about three million dollars,"  he tweeted on Friday. "I chose to distribute that to the other employees."

Persson's company, Mojang, has 25 employees, each of whom is now a lot happier after  receiving a nice little gift in the form of about $120,000 from their leader at a recent party. Why? Because he's one of the nicest bosses alive, remember?

The move prompted Carl Manneh, Mojang's Managing Director, to excitedly call it the "best company in the world." (Persson himself agrees.)

So how can Persson afford to give away that kind of dough? Well, for starters, his game is a bonafide smash.

First released in a rough, alpha form in 2009, the game quickly garnered a cult following for its open-ended gameplay and tremendous level of user customization. It didn't get officially released until November of 2011, though by then it has already scooped up dozens of awards and millions of downloads. It's raked in over $100 million in revenue and reportedly has over 20 million users, and the mobile version of the game, Minecraft: Pocket Edition, just crossed the million unit mark this week. A highly-anticipated Xbox Live Arcade version is coming later this year.

Persson also made headlines recently by extending his generous streak to help out another developer, adventure game legend Tim Schafer, by playfully offering to invest in a sequel to his cult-hit Psychonauts. Though talks between the two have cooled a bit, Schafer made headlines himself by reaching out to gamers via a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, which raised a stunning $1 million in 24 hours (it's currently up to $2.4 million).

Gotta say, this stuff warms the old heart container. Hope you're taking notes, other CEOs.
