It’s time to draw some more.

A sequel to Draw Something, last year's massive (and short-lived) iOS hit, is apparently in the works. And the news came from an unlikely source: Ryan Seacrest.

The busy host recently tweeted an image from Draw Something 2, noting it was from the upcoming sequel. OMGPOP CEO Dan Porter, now an executive at Zynga, confirmed the announcement soon afterward.

So far, there aren't a lot of details available, but the screenshot does give away a few secrets. There are new paint swatches and other enhancements. Porter, in his confirmation tweet, mentioned the game will feature "new ways to draw and connect."

The Seacrest leak wasn't entirely accidental, as he's currently developing a prime-time game show based on the app for CBS. Seacrest will be executive producer of the show, though he's not expected to host the program.

Don't be surprised if the new game ties in with that show, either. In announcing the program last year, Seacrest alluded to some sort of crossover.

"It won’t be too long before every day users and celebrities alike can put their drawing skills to the test for the chance to win a pile of cash,” he said. “You don’t even need to be a contestant in front of a live audience to win big. Viewers at home will also be able play along and compete with for prizes using phones and tablets, ushering in a new era in game show viewing."

Draw Something certainly needs a boost. After spending a whopping $200 million to buy the game and its developer OMGPOP, social game giant Zynga had high hopes for the multiplayer art game. But right after the deal, Draw Something saw its popularity begin to wane dramatically. The game lost half of its daily average users in under a month, kicking off a terrible year for Zynga.

Last fall, Zynga was forced to write off half of the purchase price, which resulted in another hit to the beleaguered company's stock.
