Weary is the head that wears the crown. Probably because of all the barrels.

For the third time in under a year, the title of "The King of Kong"
has switched hands. It now belongs to former record-holder Steve Wiebe,
who got back on top by posting a verified score of 1,064,500 in classic coin-op Donkey Kong.

The man he beat? None other than old nemesis Billy Mitchell, who nabbed the top spot a few months back with a score of 1,062,800 -- although Mitchell claims he stopped willingly after besting the score of then-champ Hank Chien.

The last time Wiebe held the high score was at the end of the hit documentary "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters," a record that only lasted a few months before Mitchell took it back.
