Fallout: New Vegas - Bethesda
Bethesda Softworks has announced plans to roll out three new add-on packs for Fallout: New Vegas this summer. Each will come out
simultaneously for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
First up will be Honest Hearts, hitting on May 17 and set in Utah's Zion National Park.
You'll determine the fate of Zion after your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. That ultimately pits you in a war between tribes, as well as a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and some dude called the Burned Man.
Roughly a month later, Old World Blues will be available -answering once and for all how the heck those mutated critters that hassle you in the Wasteland came to be. You'll scour pre-war research centers to escape your kidnappers - or, if you'd prefer, join forces with them against a mutual foe. (Or, you could always partner with them and THEN betray them after the hard work's done...)
Then, in July, Bethesda will release Lonesome Road, giving you the chance to meet the original Courier Six - the man who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas and was inadvertently responsible for all of your troubles.
He'll give you his reasons for his actions, but only after you do a job for him. And odds are it won't be a simple one.
All three DLC packs will cost $10.
The rapid distribution pace of the DLC is a bit unusual in the gaming world. Most publishers prefer to stretch out their expansions by a few months at a time. But Fallout players are famous for devouring new content - and with more than 5 million copies sold, that's a lot of anxious fans to satisfy.
