One of the oldest names in first-person shooting is making a comeback. Again.

On Tuesday, Bethesda Softworks announced that Wolfenstein: The New Order is coming to consoles (current and next-gen) and PC later this year.

Set in the 1960s, the new game will feature series mainstay B.J. Blazkowicz, who will once again battle the evil forces of Nazi Germany. But there’s a twist: in this version of the 60s, the Nazis won World War II and have gone on to create some sort of insane robot super army. Alternate historical timeline FTW!

It’s being developed by MachineGames, a group made up of founding members of StarBreeze Studios, best known as the minds behind the beloved Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

"As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud," Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames, said in a statement.

The Wolfenstein franchise dates back to 1981's Castle Wolfenstein, though it took on a new life in 1992’s seminal Wolfenstein 3D, considered by many to be the grandfather of the first-person shooter genre. The New Order marks the first game in the series since 2009's reboot, Wolfenstein.
